Features

Everything Solead does for your band

From the first import to the last song of the night: one laptop plays, every musician reads, and nobody fiddles with a DAW on stage.

Playback and sound

Your stems, played in sync and shaped for the room.

  • Up to 12 stems per song, played in sample-accurate sync. A single stereo file works too.
  • Import WAV, FLAC or MP3 from your disk or a USB stick, and set the title, tempo, key and time signature.
  • 18 track types (drums, percussion, bass, acoustic and electric guitars, piano, keys and synth, organ, strings, brass, woodwinds, lead and backing vocals, click…), detected from the file names.
  • An effect preset for each instrument (EQ, compression, gain, filtering), with a bypass on every track.
  • Venue presets: save what suits a room and apply it to the whole set at once. Your per-track tweaks survive.
  • Mute, solo and volume on every track, plus a master volume.
  • Routing: each stem to an output of your ASIO or WASAPI device, the click on its own output, remembered per device.

The band teleprompter

Every musician sees the right words and chords at the right moment.

  • Join by scanning a QR code. A tablet that has joined once is recognised next time.
  • Lyrics, chords, notes and cues follow the playback position.
  • Each musician sees the shared content plus their own, with one tap to show everything.
  • Large, high-contrast type made for stage lights.
  • If the Wi-Fi drops, the tablet keeps the last screen and reconnects by itself.
  • Optional HTTPS: trust the laptop once, then tablets can install Solead on the home screen and open it from cache.

Prep

Get the show ready at the kitchen table.

  • Song library with search by title, key or tempo.
  • Setlists you reorder by dragging, save and reuse, with a crossfade from 0 to 5 seconds.
  • Tag timeline: place lyrics, chords and cues on the song while you listen.
  • Assign content to specific musicians.

Live

A stage screen with only what matters during the show.

  • Setlist navigator: skip a song, reorder, or slip in a song from the library mid-show.
  • Crossfades between songs.
  • A visual count-in on every tablet and on the laptop.
  • Safe State: one tap stops playback, mutes every track and frames the screen in red until you release it.
  • A status bar for the audio device, outputs, connected tablets and controllers.

Practice

Rehearse and record without opening another program.

  • Play a song with the teleprompter and the backing tracks, and mute your own part.
  • Record your instrument or voice in time with playback, listen back with the band, keep or discard the take.
  • Submit the take to the band leader, who can add it to the song.

Working as a band

Everyone contributes, the band leader keeps the final word.

  • Musicians suggest lyrics, chords, notes and photos from their tablet.
  • Suggestions land in the review queue; the band leader approves or rejects them, and approved content reaches every tablet.
  • Band roster and profiles; one musician can belong to several bands.

Controllers

Hands on buttons, eyes on the band.

  • Akai APC40 mk2 and Elgato Stream Deck support.
  • Map buttons to play, stop, mute, volume, next song and more, and save mapping profiles.
  • Unplugged by accident? The show goes on from the screen, and the controller comes back when you plug it in again.

New and coming soon

What we are building right now.

  • New Song sheet: a guided path to build a song’s lyrics, chords and cues: structure, original or cover, lyrics pasted or fetched from LRCLIB and synced by tapping, chords from a chord sheet or a MIDI file, musician notes and cues, sheet-music attachments.
  • Coming soon AI assistance with your own key: optional help from OpenAI or Gemini, using your own API key, to prepare songs faster. You check everything; it does not write scores for you.
